Living with a stoma can bring practical challenges as well as emotional adjustments. Having access to specialist advice and the opportunity to speak with others who understand these experiences can make a real difference.
Cuisle Cancer Support Centre in Portlaoise is hosting a Stoma Support Group for Cancer Patients and Carers on Tuesday 6 October at 2pm.
Specialist Stoma Advice
The group will be facilitated by Stoma Care Specialist Nurse Anna Bergin.
The session will provide practical advice on some of the everyday issues that can affect people living with a stoma, including:
- Leakages
- Skin protection
- Everyday stoma care
- Other practical concerns and questions
A Safe and Supportive Space
The support group is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for people living with a stoma, as well as family members and carers supporting them.
It is an opportunity to access specialist advice, ask questions and discuss concerns in a supportive setting.
